Girona defender Miguel Gutierrez is reportedly on the radar of several Premier League clubs including Arsenal who could make a bid for the Spaniard. The Gunners are among several clubs in England who have gone to watch the player play for the La Liga side this season.

The 22-year-old is expected to leave Girona at the end of the season with reports suggesting he could make a return to Real Madrid. Other sources also state that the defender could be swayed by a move to the Premier League and the left-back situation at Arsenal could make a convincing case if he is to move abroad.

With six assists and one goal in 32 appearances this season, Gutierrez’s ability from the left-back position could provide a significant boost to Arsenal’s squad depth, particularly in an area where reinforcements are desired.

Sources cited by Fichajes suggest that Miguel Gutierrez could be an appealing choice for Mikel Arteta at Arsenal, and the club is still deliberating internally about formally approaching him. However, Manchester United reportedly consider Gutierrez their top target for the summer transfer window, setting up a competitive situation with Arsenal, who are also keen on signing the promising defender.

Other reports from Spain have suggested that Arsenal are the club pushing the hardest to sign Miguel Gutiérrez ahead of the summer transfer window.

Gutierrez would likely compete with Oleksandr Zinchenko for a starting position, increasing competition and raising the team’s overall performance level.

The opportunity to join a Premier League club, especially one with aspirations of winning domestic and European titles, may be enticing for Gutierrez as he looks to establish himself in a top European league.

Manchester United’s pursuit of Gutierrez reflects their desire to strengthen their left-back options, given concerns about Luke Shaw’s injury record and Tyrell Malacia’s limited playing time this season. Gutierrez, seen as a quality long-term prospect, could provide a sustainable solution to their defensive needs.

Arsenal’s aim to continue their Champions League campaign next season could sway Gutierrez’s decision in their favour, as ambitious players often prioritise joining clubs competing at the highest levels of European football.
