Amidst uncertainty surrounding Aaron Ramsdale’s future at Arsenal following his displacement by David Raya, the Gunners have entered the pursuit for Rangers’ young goalkeeper Mason Munn.

According to Football Insider, former Rangers scout, Phil Cowen who is now with the Arsenal recruitment team, have reportedly recommended Munn to the club. The 17-year-old goalkeeper has been earning high praise for his standout performances with the Rangers B team this season, sparking interest from multiple Premier League sides.

Munn’s stellar displays have garnered “rave reviews,” indicating his potential to secure a spot in the first team in the coming years. The Northern Irish goalkeeper, who has represented his country at U17 and U19 levels, arrived at Rangers from Glentoran on a free transfer in 2022, an acquisition considered a significant coup for the Scottish club.

Arsenal’s interest in Munn have been backed by thorough assessments of his abilities, with the Gunners scouting the young talent extensively. The potential move for Munn aligns with Arsenal’s preparations for the potential departure of Ramsdale, who has seen limited game time since Raya’s arrival.

Reports indicate that Ramsdale, having made only five league appearances this season, could be considering a move elsewhere for more consistent playing time, especially with Euro 2024 looming. Speculation links him to a possible switch to St James’ Park following Nick Pope’s injury.

However, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has publicly dismissed any suggestions of an imminent winter exit for Ramsdale, suggesting the situation remains uncertain despite swirling transfer rumors.

“I have no messages for other clubs,” the Spaniard said in November. “I can talk about my players, how much I like my players, how much I like Aaron. We want Aaron with us, that’s for sure.

“Well, first of all, my door is open to speak to any player, we just want the best for our players, and we try to do that,” he added.
