After completing the signings of Leandro Trossard and Jakub Kiwior, it’s well known Arsenal are after a central midfielder, to provide depth for Thomas Partey, before the January window closes in less than ten days time.
According to RMC Sport journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the departure of the Frank Lampard has opened the door to a potential Everton exit for Amadou Onana in January.
Lampard was sacked as Toffees boss earlier today with the club joint-bottom of the Premier League and two points away from safety. They have failed to win any of their last eight games in all competitions.
The report claims that both the Chelsea & Arsenal are interested in signing the Belgium international this month, who ranks in the top 10 of Premier League midfielders for tackles completed per 90 minutes this season, as per WhoScored.
However, Everton spent £33 million on the 21-year-old and it’s unlikely the Merseyside club will let him go for any less than they paid for him at the start of the season.
In addition, Onana will be a vital player for Everton for the remainder of the season and the club will no doubt be desperate to keep one of their star assets at Goodison Park, with relatively little time to source a replacement.
