Recent reports have emerged which discuss the possible exit of Folarin Balogun from Arsenal.

Balogun was promoted to Arsenal’s senior team in 2020 after impressing in their academy. However, due to competition, he never got the much needed play time. Arsenal hence sent Balogun out on loan to Stade Reims in 2021.

This move is possibly a huge turning point in Balogun’s career. He has been exceeding all expectations ever since joining the French side, scoring 16 goals and assisting once in the league. This makes him the third highest scorer along with former Arsenal man, Alexandre Lacazette.

La Gazzetta dello sport have reported that Italian giants, AC Milan and Inter are ready to enter a battle for Folarin Balogun’s signature. Both sides are looking out for strikers in the market.

AC Milan currently are looking for a starting striker as Zlatan Ibrahimovic is at an age where his career will be coming to an end very soon and their other options, Divock Origi, hasn’t reached expectations. Olivier Giroud too is reaching the end of his career.

Inter Milan are running out of quality options to lead their forward line as well. While they have Lautaro Martinez, there is no one who can replicate his contributions on the pitch. Romelu Lukaku has disappointed on his return to the San Siro. Edin Dzeko may leave as well come the end of this season as his contract expires.

Both sides are interested in the Arsenal loanee and are set to battle it out for his signature in the upcoming transfer window. Balogun’s current contract with Arsenal ends in 2025 and this may well be the perfect time for Arsenal to sell the player, although he’s not expected to come cheap by any means.

Arsenal’s current squad have great options for the striker role. Given that Balogun is still only 21-years-old and the fact that he has had a brilliant season in Ligue 1, Arsenal could make a good profit on the player, if they decide to sell him come the summer transfer window.

It’s worth mentioning, no decision has been made on Folarin Balogun’s Arsenal future just yet with the player focusing on finishing the seasons strong in France & the club aiming to win their first Premier League title in 19 years. However, talks between the club & the player to discuss his future will begin at the end of the season & if Arsenal do decide to sell, then there won’t be a lack of interest in the young striker.
