Arsenal has been recently linked to Turkish midfielder, Abdulkadir Omur to bolster the midfield according to Futshabber who said ‘Local London media claimed that Arsenal are interested in Abdulkadir Omur.’
Arsenal isn’t the first Premier League team that has been in for the 23-year-old midfielder, with our title rivals Manchester City also being linked to him back in the summer of 2021. Marco Conterio reported back in May 2022 for TuttoMercatoWeb stating: ‘The president of Trabzonspor reveals that he rejected 23 million from Manchester City for Abdulkadir Omur in the past. In the summer it will be an auction for the star of the Turkish Champions. Post-closing, it is also an idea of the market men of Milan and Monaco in France.’
Liverpool was also linked to the midfield talent back in 2019 according to the mirror, saying: ‘Liverpool are closing on a £27m deal to sign Trabzonspor Teenager Abdulkadir Omur, who is seen as a long-term replacement for Adam Lallana.’
Just under two years later in 2023, the tidy midfielder is now being linked to the Gunners. If Arsenal were to snatch the Turk up they’d have to pay up only a portion of what Man City got rejected, with the player only having a €9.5m (£8.3m) transfer value according to TransferMarkt.
After the signing of Mykhailo Mudryk by Chelsea where Ted Boehly splashed the cash, we’d assume the transfer market has gone up and Arsenal would have to add a few more millions to the deal to capture their target.
Despite the estimated transfer fee, to get a deal done Arsenal might have to pay up to €35million with Edu apparently being in Turkey already to seal a deal.

The midfield Engine has been at Trabzonspor since 2016 and has stayed loyal to The Super Lig team ever since, despite all the rumours. The player has not yet made it to Stefans Kuntz’s national side, but has played an array of U-21 football for Turkey and has looked promising on multiple occasions.
Trabzonspor manager, Abdullah Avci though has put a lot of faith in him so far this season, with playing the talent in most games. The Turkish manager who’s been at the club since 2020 also played him in their title-winning season where they also won the Super Cup.
Trabzonspor, who won the Super Lig trophy last season, currently sits in 6th place in the league, winning nine games, drawing five and losing four. Most recently winning 1-0 against Instanbul Basaksehir where the number 10 played alongside Anastasios Bakasetas, who scored the only goal for Trabzonspor on the day.
The man with the name ‘The Turkish Messi’ with he’s close dribbling, low centre of gravity, ability to pick out a pass and intelligence on the pitch has been linked to Premier League sides for a long time now, the man from Carsibasi looks to finally get a move to the Premier League, but will it be Arsenal?
