Arsenal are set to battle Chelsea for the signing of Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville this summer. Mikel Arteta is keen to add depth to his attacking wide options ahead of next season.

The Gunners top target was Wolves winger Pedro Neto with Mikel Arteta being a big fan of the player for some time. However his recent injury problems have lead to Arsenal having to look elsewhere.

Pedro Neto suffered another hamstring injury earlier this month which is expected to rule him out for the rest of the season. The 24-year-old has been restricted to 19 Premier League appearances this season due to injuries.

However when he has played, he’s shown why he’s good enough to play for a top club. The Portuguese winger has recorded nine assists and scored two goals this season and there’s no doubt them numbers would be higher if he was on the pitch more regularly.

Arsenal are reluctant to spend £60million on a player with such a concerning injury record. This has lead to the club scouting 22-year-old winger, Crysencio Summerville who has been tearing it up in the Championship this season.

The Leeds United winger has scored 16 goals and recorded eight assists in the second division of English football so far during the 2023/24 campaign.

Arsenal aren’t the only club said to be interested in the Dutch international with Chelsea also keeping a close eye on the talented winger.

Other options the Gunners are looking at in the wide positions ahead of next season include Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, Spanish winger Nico Williams and RB Leipzig star Xavi Simons.

Alexander Isak is Arsenal’s top target ahead of the summer with the 24-year-old able to operate off the left as well as through the middle. However the Gunners are weighing up other options incase the Newcastle man isn’t available.
