Arsenal have stepped up the pursuit of Real Madrid forward Rodrygo with a fresh offer, following the rejection of bids from Premier League rivals Liverpool and Manchester United.

Mikel Arteta has been transparent about his desire to strengthen Arsenal’s attacking lineup, with speculation linking the club to several high-profile forwards, including Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres, and previous target Ivan Toney from Brentford. Additionally, with reports suggesting the potential departure of England international Eddie Nketiah, the need for reinforcements up front has become paramount for Arsenal.

As the Gunners continue their quest to challenge for the Premier League title, sitting just two points behind current leaders Liverpool, the club’s hierarchy is already strategising for the 2024/25 season.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has expressed willingness to negotiate Rodrygo’s departure if a suitable offer materialises. However, Arsenal face stiff competition for the Brazilian’s signature, with Rodrygo reportedly keen to remain at the Bernabeu despite interest from top European clubs like Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, and Liverpool.

Securing Rodrygo’s services won’t come cheap for Arsenal, as Perez is said to be holding out for a fee upwards of €90 million. Despite the financial challenge, Arsenal remain determined in their pursuit of the Brazilian, who has impressed since his arrival at Real Madrid in 2019 from Santos.

Rodrygo’s contributions have seen him earn 138 league appearances for the Spanish giants, scoring 25 goals in La Liga. Additionally, he has become a regular feature in the Brazilian national team setup, earning 22 caps and netting five times for his country.

While Rodrygo’s contract extension until June 2028 suggests his commitment to Real Madrid, Arsenal remain optimistic about their chances of securing his signature and bolstering their attacking options for the upcoming seasons.
