World Cup winner and Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister is expected to leave The Seagulls this summer, with many Premier League clubs showing an interest in the player.

According to Cesar Luis Merlo, Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool are currently the three clubs showing the most interest in Alexis Mac Allister as it stands, with two of those clubs already negotiating with the player.

Mac Allister surprised the world with his performances in Qatar and carried on that great form with Brighton in 2023. The World Cup winner has scored eight goals and recorded one assist in 24 appearances for the Seagulls this campaign.

Arsenal see the player as the perfect addition to the role Granit Xhaka currently fills in the side. Mac Allister is a very versatile midfielder who can operate anywhere across the midfield & with the Gunners participation in Champions League looking very likely next season, Mikel Arteta will be keen to add more quality in depth during the next transfer window.

In the World Cup Alexis Mac Allisterstarted every game, bar the first group stage match, and was a key factor in Argentina’s run to the final, where he played in a more attacking role for his country and exceeded all expectations in Qatar.

Mac Allister has been constantly praised by media and coaches for his fantastic work ethic, his passing and his decision making in the final third. On top of all that he is also a set-piece specialist as he is the current free-kick & penalty taker for Brighton this season.

It is believed that Brighton will demand around €70m for the player to leave in the summer transfer window.

With Arsenal recently negotiating with Brighton over the transfers of Ben White & Leandro Trossard, it’s been said there is a strong relationship there for the two clubs to do business in the future, which could give Arsenal the upper hand over Chelsea in signing the Argentine.
