Arsenal have been linked with a number of players so far during the January transfer window, with Mikel Arteta determined to do business this month despite the lack of funds currently available to him.

Arsenal spent over £200million in the summer on four new signings which means they need to sell before they buy this month in order to stay in line with FFP. Despite that, the club are still in the market for a player who can improve the squad as the Gunners are in desperate need of a new striker with Mikel Arteta’s current options not firing so far this season.

The chances of signing a new striker in January are slim, however according to reports the club are already putting in the work for their number one target come the summer.

Arsenal were interested in signing Dusan Vlahovic in 2022 before he decided to stay in Italy and the club opted to sign Gabriel Jesus instead. However Arsenal’s interest hasn’t gone away with Mikel Arteta still a huge fan of the Serbian striker.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Dusan Vlahovic remains firmly on Arsenal’s radar, with the Gunners apparently exploring a deal for the striker over the last few days. However according to the report, Juventus are determined to keep hold of the striker this month, with any deal expected to materialise in the summer.

The Italian giants are said to want £70million for Vlahovic, which is likely to be out of Arsenal’s reach in January, unless they let some players leave which Mikel Arteta isn’t a fan of.

Eddie Nketiah is one player attracting interest this month with Crystal Palace and Fulham both keen on the striker. Arsenal are said to value Nketiah at around £35million, however do not want to let the player leave until the summer.

Any move from Arsenal for Dusan Vlahovic is likely to happen in the summer when the club will have more financial flexibility. They will also have more options to choose from with Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney also being closely watched by the Gunners.
