Arsenal and Chelsea have been handed hope in the signing of Brazilian wonderkid Vitor Roque. The 18-year-old admitted that he has no preference in which club he joins in the future. Roque is a forward that plays for Athletico Paranaense and will cost his full release clause of £53million.
Vitor Roque is a player with bags of potential. At just 17-years-old he scored the winning goal to take his side to the semi-finals of the Copa Libertadores.
The youngster has had an impressive breakout year in senior football. Last month he won the Under-20s South American Championships, that has led him to finding a place in the senior Brazil squad for the March internationals.
In February the player said the following to sport about joining Barcelona:
“I feel ready to play for Barcelona. look, i try to stay focused on the day-to-day and give my best at Athletico. I’m sure that if i do well here, going to Europe will be a possibility.”
This does not necessarily mean he prefers a move to the Now Camp over the Emirates Stadium. The youngster has since clarified he has no preference over where he ends up. Roque is most likely making a transfer this summer to Europe.
