Arsenal are actively pursuing the signing of former Manchester City winger Leroy Sane before the closure of the winter transfer window, according to recent reports.
Fichajes De Futbol has recently disclosed that Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sane, with just one year left on his contract, is on the radar of both Arsenal and Liverpool FC. The Gunners, who have been conspicuously absent from the transfer market since the window opened, are eager to make a significant move, with numerous high-profile players in their sights.
Since joining Bundesliga powerhouse Bayern Munich, Leroy Sane has exhibited stellar performances. In the current season, the 28-year-old has already netted eight goals, ranking seventh in attempts on goal alongside Ermedin Demirović of FC Augsburg. Sane’s prowess extends beyond scoring, as he leads the league with a total of 10 assists. His 56 shots on goal place him fourth in the league-wide statistics.
Having started in all 17 games for Bayern this season, Sane boasts a commendable record of 13 victories with his club. Notably, he is recognised as one of the Bundesliga’s most formidable runners, registering 524 sprints (rank 5) and achieving a maximum speed of 35.82 km/h, securing him the sixth spot in league statistics.
Fichajes speculates that Sane’ s departure from Bayern is increasingly likely in the summer to prevent losing him for nothing in 2025. With a market valuation of approximately €68 million, Arsenal are poised to negotiate a lower price given the player’s contract situation.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is keen on reinforcing his options in the wide areas, where rotation has been limited due to the reliance on Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka. Sane, capable of playing on both flanks, would introduce healthy competition on the wings if his anticipated move to the Emirates Stadium materialises.
Leroy Sane, having previously showcased his quality during his tenure with Pep Guardiola’s star-studded Manchester City, brings valuable Premier League experience. His trophy-laden history in both Germany and England suggests that he could make an immediate impact at Arsenal, fulfilling the need for a dynamic and experienced winger.
