With reports emerging that Shakhtar Donetsk may be trying to create a bidding war for the services of Mykhaylo Mudryk, fresh speculation is linking Arsenal Football Club to another winger – this time from Italy.

According to Italian newspaper La Repubblica, Napoli winger Hirving Lozano is an alternative target for Mikel Arteta’s side and Arsenal aren’t the only Premier League club eyeing his availability.

The report claims Arsenal, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Newcastle United are just a few of the clubs ‘courting’ the 27-year-old, who was a key player for Mexico at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Despite featuring in Napoli’s Serie A clash with Inter Milan yesterday, the clubs attempts to renew Lozano’s contract aren’t going as planned, which could lead to his departure.

He is said to have previously expressed his desire to play in the Premier League, so a switch to England could attract his attention after entering the final 18 months of his Napoli deal.

With Mudryk’s pursuit not quite falling into place, Arteta and sporting director Edu may be looking at having some other options on the table in case they can’t get the Mudryk deal concluded.
