Arsenal are looking to bolster their midfield options this summer, and it seems like Turkish wonderkid Arda Güler is an option the Gunners are looking at, according to the Turkish sources.
The 18-year-old has had a fantastic breakout season for Fenerbahce during the 2022/23 campaign, which has meant many clubs around Europe are keeping a close eye on the Turkish youngster. The most concrete interest is coming from two Premier League clubs, in Newcastle United and Arsenal.
Newcastle & Arsenal both finished in the top four in England meaning both teams are looking to bolster their squads ahead of Champions League football next season. The Gunners, as well as the Magpies have made contact with the players representatives over a move this summer.
It has been reported that Arda Güler is keen to move to one of the big leagues around Europe, however Fenerbahce are reluctant to listen to offers for their talented youngster as they see him as a core player for the future. It appears it would take an offer above £15million for the Turkish side to think about letting the 18-year-old leave this summer.
Güler is a very versatile player who mainly operates as an attacking midfielder, but can also be used as a winger or even a play a more deeper role in midfield, where he played the last couple of games in the Turkish League.
This season, the youngster has played 19 matches in the Turkish Super League, scoring four and recording four assists, with an average rating of 7.84, according to FotMob. However, almost half of his appearances were substitute cameos off the bench which makes his stats even more impressive.
At just 18-years-old he also has two caps for the Turkish national team.
If Arsenal want to sign Güler they will have to move quickly as the interest for him is only expected to rise. He is very high on Mikel Arteta’s shortlist together with Moises Caicedo and Declan Rice, as the Gunners look to bring in much needed quality in depth ahead of next season.
