Arsenal are eager for manager Mikel Arteta to solidify his future with the club, encouraging him to commit as soon as he feels ready. Arteta, whose current contract has just over a year remaining, has reassured the club of his commitment to their vision.

According to TBR Football, Arteta values the support he has received from Arsenal in the transfer market and has built a strong partnership with the club’s technical director, Edu.

While Arsenal are not overly concerned about losing Arteta, they are aware of the significant interest from Barcelona and Manchester City. Both clubs are reportedly keen admirers of Arteta, with Manchester City potentially eyeing him as a long-term successor to Pep Guardiola. Given this interest, Arsenal are keen to secure Arteta’s future before the start of the next season.

Arsenal’s confidence in Arteta has been unwavering, even during challenging periods earlier in his tenure. This trust from Edu and the club’s leadership has fostered a strong relationship, making it likely that Arteta will choose to renew his contract as a gesture of gratitude.

Despite the allure of returning to his former club Barcelona, Arteta appears focused on his goals at Arsenal. Guardiola has previously praised Arteta as ‘incredible,’ highlighting the high regard in which he is held. Arteta remains driven to achieve significant milestones with Arsenal, including ending the club’s two-decade wait for a Premier League title and leading them to their first Champions League triumph.

The Spaniard was linked with the Barcelona job after Xavi announced earlier in the season that he will be stepping down at the end of the season. However, Arteta called the stories “fake” and was upset about the rumours.

“That is totally fake news,” said Arteta. “What you read, I’m really upset about it. I couldn’t believe it. It has no sources. I’m in the right place with the right people and feel really good about it. I’m embracing a beautiful journey with this club and there’s still a lot to do. I have a strong relationship with the board.”
