It’s once again been reported that Arsenal are interested in Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha, ahead of the summer transfer window.

A player who has been on the radar of the Gunners for many years however a suitable deal has never been agreed. With the Ivorians contract set to expire at the end of the season, Zaha will be available to leave Selhurst Park on a free transfer.

Now at the age of 30, Wilfried Zaha is coming off a campaign having only netted six Premier League goals this season. With Arsenal’s current left wing position being occupied by Brazilian star, Gabriel Martinelli and in form January signing, Leandro Trossard the game time available for Zaha would be sufficiently lower than he is currently getting at Palace.

However with Champions League football all but secured at the Emirates next season, Mikel Arteta is looking to add some much needed quality in depth in all areas of the pitch and Zaha could provide that behind Bukayo Saka next season.

He also isn’t getting any younger and with Arteta building a youthful squad this deal could possibly be a few years late. However on the other hand the recent acquisition of Jorginho could provide a reason as to how the Zaha deal would work as he could come in as a useful squad player.

It’s expected Zaha wouldn’t turn down a move to Arsenal with the opportunity to play Champions League football, despite the less game time he would get in North London compared to what he gets now at Selhurst Park. However it remains to be seen whether Arsenal will actually step up their interest in the skilful winger come the summer transfer window.
