Despite strengthening the squad early in the summer with high-profile signings, it appears Arsenal may still make room for one more with Barcelona forward Ansu Fati available in the transfer market. The La Liga champions are reportedly offering their No 10 Ansu Fati to a number of clubs including London rivals Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham are in contact with Barcelona to sign the talented forward on loan until 2024, but Fati would prefer to stay at Barcelona and is also reportedly willing to move to a Champions League club only.

Arsenal recently enquired about the player and are expected to return now the player wants to leave Spain.

Having spent more than £200 million in transfers this summer with the addition of Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber, Declan Rice and David Raya, the Gunners are still in the market for top talents to compete for places in the squad.

Premier League Young Player of the Year, Bukayo Saka has set a new record for the club after amassing 83 consecutive starts in the Premier League. Mikel Arteta wants to bring in competition or someone who can deputise when the young Englishman is not playing.

Arteta sees Ansu Fati as the kind of player that can push Saka to perform even better and replace him in the team whenever the need arises. He can also play across the front three for Arsenal.

With the Financial Fair Play rule, Arsenal wants to strike a deal similar to that of David Raya with Brentford, a loan with an option/obligation to make it permanent next summer.

Barcelona values the player above €50 million this summer, and Arsenal are one of the teams keeping an eye on the situation and may swoop in late in the transfer window.

With Champions League football returning to the Emirates Stadium and the exciting project Mikel Arteta is building, it is believed Fati will want to join a club on the rise and the opportunity to challenge for silverware instantly.
