Arsenal are showing keen interest in 19-year-old wonderkid Oscar Gloukh from Red Bull Salzburg. The midfielder, currently making waves with the Austrian Bundesliga league leaders, has attracted attention from some of Europe’s top clubs, with Barcelona making a close attempt to secure his signature in 2022 when he departed Maccabi Tel Aviv for €7 million.

Reports from FootballTransfers indicate that Gloukh’s impressive performances this season, where he has notched up six goals and six assists in 26 appearances, including two goals in the Champions League, have elevated his market value. It is speculated that Salzburg could demand triple the amount paid for him initially, given his stellar contributions on the pitch.

Gloukh’s journey to prominence began with his senior debut for Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv in August 2021, marking him as one of the youngest players in the club’s history at just 17 years old. Despite his youth, Gloukh swiftly demonstrated his talent, scoring his first senior goal in a league match against Maccabi Haifa in April 2022.

With Arsenal scouts actively seeking a young prospect who embodies the Gunners’ playing style, the potential acquisition of Gloukh could ease the pressure on the management staff at the Emirates, particularly in light of potential departures such as Martin Odegaard, whose absence could leave a void in midfield.

Sources suggest that the departure of players like Fabio Vieira and academy product Emile Smith Rowe at the end of the season could thin out competition in midfield, making Gloukh’s arrival even more significant, especially considering his versatility and ability to play in the No. 10 position.

Mikel Arteta, impressed by Gloukh’s performances, is expected to keep a close eye on the young talent as the season progresses. Similar to Odegaard, Gloukh possesses the technical prowess and vision to operate effectively in the attacking midfield role, making him an enticing prospect for the Premier League title contenders.
