As the Premier League season hurtles towards its climax, Arsenal currently sits atop the table, having played two more games than Manchester City. With just four games remaining, the weight of expectations is looming large, and every match is crucial for Mikel Arteta’s side, who are determined to maintain their top spot.

On Thursday evening, many Arsenal fans will be keeping a close eye on the clash between Brighton and Manchester City at the Amex Stadium. The Gunners are banking on City dropping points to tilt the title race further in their favour.

However, Arsenal’s focus remains firmly on their own performances, especially as they gear up for an important North London Derby against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend. The significance of this match cannot be overstated, with both teams vying for crucial points in the race for the title.

Recent reports from Italy suggest that Arsenal are actively pursuing Bologna forward Joshua Zirkzee. Negotiations are said to be underway, with the Gunners prepared to offer a lucrative contract to the 22-year-old, signalling their intent to strengthen their attacking options.

According to Tuttosport, the Gunners are in talks with his agent, Kia Joorabchian, and are ready to offer him a five-year contract with £100,000 weekly wages. Zirkzee is making a huge statement in Italy, helping Bologna to an incredible season with the chance to qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season. He has scored 11 goals and provided 5 assists this season.

Arsenal have also been linked with other striker targets ahead of the summer, with names like Viktor Gyokeres of Sporting CP among those internally discussed in the club. Red Bull Salzburg’s Benjamin Sesko is also considered, while Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, who is linked with a move away from Italy at the end of the season, is also a target for the Gunners.

The Gunners are prepared to allow Eddie Nketiah to leave the club, and they need another striker in the team who will provide cover and competition for Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus.
