According to reports, Arsenal have seen an initial bid rejected for uncapped French fullback ahead of the summer transfer window.

As per reports from Turkey, Arsenal have seen a £17m bid rejected for Galatasaray defender, Sacha Boey with the Turkish side holding out for £25m.

The Gunners are looking for defensive reinforcements ahead of next season after injuries to William Saliba and Takehiro Tomiyasu was a big factor in Arsenal’s collapse towards the end of the season which ultimately handed Manchester City the Premier League title.

Mikel Arteta is keen to add some much needed quality in depth all across the pitch this summer, with the full-back position high up the list of priorities, along with a central midfielder and a right winger.

Ben White has been one of the best right-backs in the league this season, but Arsenal need an adequate back-up in order to compete on all fronts next season. The Gunners are looking to compete with Manchester City for the league title again, while also in the Champions League for the first time in seven years.

Tomiyasu’s injury issues is a worry, as well as the fact he’s seen as left-back cover as well, which may be needed even more next season with Kieran Tierney set to leave the club.

Sacha Boey isn’t the only right-back Arsenal are looking at this summer, with Ivan Fresneda and Joao Cancelo also being discussed within the club hierarchy. It’s currently unclear whether the Gunners will be willing to match Galatasaray’s valuation of £25m for the young French right back, or whether they will look at alternatives after their first bid was rejected.

Mikel Arteta is keen to get Arsenal’s business done as early as possible so any new signings can get a full pre-season ahead of the 2023/24 campaign. A bid is set to be submitted for Declan Rice after West Ham have played in the Europa Conference League final.

Sacha Boey has had a very impressive year in Turkey this season. The 22-year-old Frenchman, yet to be capped at senior level, has caught the eye this season in his 29 appearances for Galatasaray, grabbing a goal and an assist from right back.
