Ahead of the summer transfer window, Arsenal’s main priority is to strengthen in the central midfield area with West Ham’s, Declan Rice currently the club’s number one target.
As well as central midfield, Arsenal will try and strengthen their depth in other areas ahead of the club’s long awaited return to the Champions League with it looking all but likely the Gunners will be back in Europe’s biggest competition next season.
Another area of the team Mikel Arteta is looking at ahead of the upcoming transfer window is the full-back positions.
Arsenal currently have Takehiro Tomiyasu, Ben White, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Kieran Tierney as their main full back options. However with there being question marks over Kieran Tierney’s Arsenal future, due to his lack of game-time this season, the club could look to go out and strengthen in this area ahead of next season.
One player on Arsenal’s shortlist is Real Valladolid right back, Ivan Fresneda. Arsenal have had talks with the players’ representatives regarding the possibility of the player moving to North London come the summer.
As well as Fresneda, Arsenal are also looking at another young full-back, if Kieran Tierney is to leave North London at the end of the season, who is Red Bull Salzburg’s Amar Dedic.
As per a report by SPORT, Arsenal, Barcelona & AC Milan are all currently scouting Red Bull Salzburg’s Amar Dedic as a potential right-back option.
Arsenal sent scouts to attend Bosnia and Herzegovina’s home game against Iceland, where Dedic started as the right-wingback for the hosts. He also scored a goal in their 3-0 win.
Typically an attacking right-back, Dedic has three assists in 17 appearances with Salzburg in the league, and averages at least a chance created per game.
The report claims that Dedic is priced at around €10 million by the Austrian giants.
Signing him will not be easy, with clubs all over Europe showing an interest in the Bosnian right-back, however if Arsenal manage to win the Premier League this season then it could give them a boost ahead of the other teams in the race.
