It’s no secret Arsenal are struggling to make any moves in the transfer market this month due to current financial restrictions. The Gunners spent over £200million on four new signings ahead of the 2023/24 campaign which means the club need to be careful this month in order to stay in line with FFP.

However the summer will be a different story with Arsenal on course to qualify for the UEFA Champions League for the second year in a row. The club will have money to spend ahead of next season with the Gunners and Manchester City set to battle it out for one of the world’s most promising talents.

At just 21-years-old, Barcelona midfielder Pedri has proved to be one of the world’s most promising prospects during his short career so far. The Spaniard has already made 122 appearances for Barcelona while also being capped 18 times by Spain. He’s also played every single game for Spain in the last two major tournaments.

However Pedri has faced many injury problems over the last few years which has lead Barcelona manager, Xavi to feel some uncertainty over the midfielder going forward which could lead the club to sell the player next summer.

There’s no doubt if the 21-year-old can stay fit, he can go on to be one of the best midfielders in the world. However there’s a big question mark over his fitness with a number of hamstring injuries hampering his career to date.

Pedri has been out for 394 days in total since 2021 with muscle injuries, which has lead to the player only making 12 appearances in La Liga two seasons ago, following that up with 26 last season. So far this season he’s made just eight appearances for Barcelona out of 19 La Liga games.

According to Fichajes, Pedri’s recent injury problems have caused concern within the Barcelona hierarchy which could lead to the club selling the 21-year-old next summer.

Arsenal and Manchester are said to be monitoring the 21-year-old closely, with Bayern Munich also interested in taking a chance on the midfielder. All three clubs are said to be ready to launch offers come the summer transfer window.

Arsenal and Manchester City came up against each other in the last summer transfer window during the saga of Declan Rice. The Gunners came out on top in that one, and Mikel Arteta will be confident his side can do it again if they are to make a move for Pedri ahead of next season.
