According to a recent report, Arsenal and Chelsea have both established contact with representatives of young Brazilian forward, Vitor Roque.

Vitor Roque currently plays his football at Brazilian side Athletico Paranaense although it’s looking extremely likely the 18-year-old will be on the move in the Summer to one of Europe’s biggest clubs, with Arsenal, Chelsea and Barcelona all interested in the player.

However Barcelona are currently behind in the race with SPORT revealing that the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea have established contact with young forward, Vitor Roque. The players’ father and agent are currently in London discussing a potential summer move to England.

Edu Gaspar being Arsenal’s technical director gives the Gunners an edge in the race to sign the young Brazilian forward, as well as also having a strong Brazilian core at the club which Vitor Roque likes the look of. It is said that Edu is in permanent contact with Roque’s representatives and he is ready to offer the player a project that is on the rise.

The Brazilian side will most likely want a fee of around €35m-€40m for him.

Both Arsenal and Chelsea have no financial limitations. This means unlike Barcelona, both are very much capable of paying the transfer fee upfront and not in instalments.

Vitor Roque is a player with bags of potential. At just 17-years-old he scored the winning goal to take his side to the semi-finals of the Copa Libertadores. He’s already played for the Brazil U20’s side and is a player performing way beyond his years.

The striker wears the number 39 shirt at Athletico Paranaense as a tribute to Bruno Guimarães who starred for the club a few years ago.

If Arsenal are serious about him then it puts some doubt into Folarin Balogun’s future at the club, however these are only rumours at the moment, although very reliable ones.
