One player who has caught the attention of the hierarchies at the Emirates Stadium is 25-year-old Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad. The Spanish midfielder has been dubbed as the next top talent to emerge from La Liga and has been impressing with his performances on the pitch and is Mikel Arteta’s priority target to boost Arsenal midfield.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal are highly interested in Zubimendi and have already made contact with Real Sociedad to discuss a potential move. With a release clause of £52 million, Zubimendi won’t come cheap, but Arsenal are willing to pay the price for his services.

The Gunners have been keeping a close eye on Zubimendi for some time now, and it seems that Arteta is a big fan of the midfielder. It’s no surprise why, as Zubimendi possesses all the qualities that would make him a perfect fit for Arsenal’s style of play.

A technical and intelligent player, Zubimendi is comfortable on the ball and has excellent passing range. He can dictate play in the midfield and has an eye for a killer through ball. His defensive abilities are also commendable, with his tackling and interceptions showing maturity beyond his age.

One of the most impressive aspects of Zubimendi’s game is his composure under pressure. Despite his young age, he has shown great maturity and confidence when faced with tough challenges on the pitch. With Arteta looking to build a team around young and talented players, Zubimendi fits the bill perfectly. He has already made over 70 appearances for Real Sociedad and has been a key player for them this season, helping them to a top-five spot in the La Liga table.

However, Arsenal could face competition from Bayern Munich for Zubimendi’s signature. The German giants have also been keeping a close eye on the midfielder and could make a move for him in the near future. But with Arteta’s vision and the lure of playing in the Premier League, Arsenal could have the upper hand in this transfer battle.

Moreover, with Barcelona’s interest in Zubimendi seemingly fading, Arsenal have a realistic chance of securing his services. The Gunners have a good relationship with Real Sociedad, as seen with the transfer of Nacho Monreal in 2019, which could work in their favour.

If Arsenal do manage to land Zubimendi in the summer, it would be another statement signing for the club. The Gunners have already shown their ambition in the transfer market with the signing of players like Declan Rice and Kai Havertz, Zubimendi would further strengthen their midfield.

All eyes will be on the Emirates Stadium this season as Arsenal looks to secure their first League title since 2004. Signing a talented player like Zubimendi could be the first step towards achieving their goals and establishing themselves as a top team once again.
