In his column for CaughtOffside, Christian Falk talks about Arsenal’s summer transfer plans, including their interest in signing a Bundesliga forward.

Christian Falk, head of football at the BILD Group, mentioned his latest visit to Bayer Leverkusen in his latest column. He sure did his best to spark the hope and imagination of Arsenal fans, as they are already getting ready for a big summer transfer window.

Here’s what he had to say about the interest from other clubs in Leverkusen’s star players:

“Arsenal still have an interest in Diaby. The Bayer Leverkusen star’s agents are in contact with the club.”

He goes on to briefly mention his meeting with Simon Rolfes, Leverkusen’s sporting director. The two of them joked about the growing interest from Europe’s top clubs in his star players, including Moussa Diaby. Crucially, nothing concrete has been confirmed by the Leverkusen’s sporting director.

Nonetheless, Falk mentioned another player who could be on Arsenal’s radar for the summer.

“However, it is worth noting that the Gunners are also interested in Dortmund’s Julian Brandt. The club has yet to make a final decision on that front.” – he added.

It is no secret that Arsenal are in the market for a wide-forward this summer, even with Leandro Trossard hitting the ground running. Mikel Arteta clearly has Champions League football in the back of his mind and wants to build a strong side.

Bayer Leverkusen’s Moussa Diaby is not a finished article by any means, but with 11 goals and 6 assists in 32 games this season, he looks like a winger who Mikel Arteta could elevate on another level.
