Excitement is mounting at the prospect of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko potentially making a move to Arsenal in the upcoming summer transfer window, as revealed by his agent.

The 20-year-old has emerged as a prime target for the Gunners after catching the eye with his impressive performances in the Bundesliga. Sesko has notched an impressive 15 goals in his debut season in Germany, finding the net in his last four consecutive matches.

Alongside Arsenal’s interest, Chelsea are also reportedly keen on securing the services of the promising forward. With Mauricio Pochettino’s side seeking reinforcements up front following Christopher Nkunku’s injury-plagued debut season in England, Sesko has emerged as a viable option.

Reports suggest that the Slovenian international possesses a £43 million release clause in his contract at RB Leipzig, which is set to become active in the upcoming summer transfer window. Compared to the hefty transfer fees demanded for other striking targets such as Ivan Toney or Victor Osimhen, Sesko’s potential acquisition could be seen as a bargain for Arsenal.

While Kai Havertz has assumed the central striking role for Mikel Arteta’s side in recent weeks, with impressive returns, the Gunners are reportedly still keen on bolstering their attacking options in the offseason.

Arsenal Technical Director, Edu Gaspar, has indicated that the club has already identified their transfer targets for the summer, emphasising the need for continual improvement. Speaking to TNT Sports in February, he said: “I understand why the fans are asking for [a No.9] but we already have our targets planned, we know what we’re going to face.

“I’d be worried if we weren’t scoring goals or creating chances but we are doing that right now. The plan is to try and get better every year, we’re at a good moment right now and so it’s about improving step-by-step.”

Adding to the speculation, Sesko’s agent, Elvis Basanovic, recently fueled rumours by sharing an image of himself at the Emirates Stadium. Basanovic, whose agency Pro Transfer represents Sesko, was spotted in the members-only lounge during Arsenal’s recent London derby victory over Chelsea.
