Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres has cast doubt on his future with the club despite their recent league triumph amid keen interest from Arsenal and other European giants.

Gyokeres, who played an important role in Sporting winning the league title, has been the leading scorer in the Portuguese top flight this season, boasting an impressive tally of 27 goals and 10 assists. However, despite Sporting’s desire to retain him, the Swedish forward has refrained from making any firm commitments regarding his next move.

Arsenal, in particular, have set their sights on the 24-year-old as they aim to bolster their attacking options in the upcoming transfer window. With a reported release clause of €100 million (£85 million) in his contract, Gyokeres’ future hangs in the balance as he remains noncommittal about staying with Sporting.

In a recent interview with A Bola, Gyokeres hinted at the uncertainty surrounding his future, stating, “Stay next season? It’s football, it’s normal, I can’t promise anything. I really like being here, but in football everything happens very fast and we have to adapt. I can’t make so many predictions, it’s difficult, there are still games this season, then we’ll see.”

Meanwhile, Arsenal, under the stewardship of Mikel Arteta, are eager to reinforce their squad for the upcoming campaign. Alongside their pursuit of Gyokeres, the Gunners are also targeting defensive and midfield reinforcements.

Despite Arsenal’s resurgence this season, with a potential Premier League title still within reach, they face stiff competition from Manchester City, who are on course to secure their fourth consecutive league triumph.

Amidst Arsenal’s hunt for a new striker, attention has turned to Gabriel Jesus. Reports from CNN Brasil suggest that the Brazilian forward is attracting interest from his homeland, with Palmeiras considering a bold loan move for the 27-year-old. While Jesus may prefer to continue his European career, uncertainties surrounding playing time and recent injury concerns could prompt him to consider a move if Arsenal secures a new striker.
