One of the best performers for Arsenal last season is reportedly at the top of his former manager’s transfer wishlist, as a summer exit from the Gunners edges closer.

Rumours of Aaron Ramsdale seeking a move away from Arsenal this summer have ramped up in recent months, and now his former manager, Eddie Howe, is reportedly desperate to lure the England international to Newcastle this summer.

Arsenal paid just £24m when they signed Ramsdale back in 2021, but are now set to command a fee of £50-60m for any possible transfer for the 25-year-old, as his former manager eyes a move.

Ramsdale started every Premier League game for the Gunners last season, keeping 14 clean sheets in the process, but has so far made just six appearances in the current league campaign.

He lost his place in the starting lineup shortly after the unexpected arrival of David Raya on loan with an option to buy from Brentford, with Arteta seeming to prefer his Spanish compatriot in his preferred system.

This has seen Ramsdale stuck with very limited playing time, and questions asked over both his club and international future as a result.

Howe managed Ramsdale for three years at AFC Bournemouth, between 2017-2020, but now the current Newcastle boss is looking to be reunited with the shot-stopper.

Ramsdale is said to have had a very strong relationship with his former manager, making any possible transfer from Arsenal a logical step as he looks to rebuild his career.
