Former Arsenal winger Willian has lauded Manchester City as “the best team in the world” and issued a stern warning to Fulham, emphasising the need for perfection to stand a chance of upsetting the Premier League giants on Saturday.

Pep Guardiola’s relentless winning machine finds themselves on the brink of an unprecedented fourth consecutive Premier League title, with just three victories separating them from the coveted trophy. Despite their recent exit from the Champions League, City remain formidable both domestically and internationally, setting a daunting challenge for opponents.

As City’s pursuit of glory continues, their performance against Fulham at Craven Cottage holds significant implications for Arsenal, who closely trail the title race. Any stumble by City could see Arsenal regain control, intensifying the spotlight on Saturday’s clash.

Fulham’s preparations for the encounter, however, raised eyebrows when footage emerged of players flying kites during training at Motspur Park. Nevertheless, veteran winger Willian insists that Fulham are approaching their final home game of the season with utmost seriousness, aiming to conclude the campaign on a high note.

“It’s always good to play against the big teams, especially City who are – for me – the best team in the world,” remarked Willian. “To beat them, you need to be perfect. In every moment of the game, in every aspect of the game. If you sleep for five seconds, they can kill us. I think it will be a great game to play.”

While acknowledging City’s supremacy, Willian expressed confidence in Fulham’s ability to rise to the challenge. “We respect them a lot, as I said they’re the best team in the world, but we cannot be afraid to play against them. We need to go there Saturday and try our best to win the game.”

Reflecting on the potential impact on Arsenal’s title aspirations, Willian says he is focused on Fulham’s performance rather than aiding other clubs. “To be honest, I don’t think about helping Arsenal, or any other club,” he clarified. “We have two games left and we have to fight for the points, but for me personally I don’t think about any other situation, any other club. I think about myself and my club.”
