Arsenal recently overcame a tough challenge as they came back to win 2-4 at Villa Park and bounce back into winning form. Villa struck twice and Arsenal only once in the first half but later in the second half of the game Arsenal pulled through and triumphed over Villa in second half in an emphatic fashion.
Arsenal looked shaky in the first few minutes and that led to them conceding a goal but Saka struck well to reply to that goal, however, shortly after Philippe Coutinho cancelled that goal out by netting a beautifully played team-goal.
This goal saw Arsenal trailing as the second half begun. But throughout the second half both sides looked equally as strong as each other. However, it was Arsenal who created more chances, one of which converted into goal and was Zinchenko’s first goal for the club.
After a series of missed chances it was only in added time that Arsenal sealed their victory as Jorginho struck the ball beautifully but it hit Emiliano Martinez on the way in and Gabriel Martinelli then scored a goal to confirm their victory at the very last second. They showed an immense amount of strength and team-spirit to bounce back and get back to winning ways.
In the post-match interview, Oleksandr Zinchenko, who scored his first goal for Arsenal and in the Premier League said:
“We didn’t play well in the first half. That shows again that we have character in this team. The manager said the right words at half time… Everyone wanted to get back out onto the pitch as soon as possible, we went out of the door even before the whistle.”
When asked about winning again Zinchenko said:
“It was so important for us to be back on track. It’s not just about in terms of points and the table. It’s about the rhythm and our mood in the dressing room and the training ground. We just need to keep fighting until the very end.
From this game I would like to say two things. First we took an unbelievable lesson for all of us that we need to believe until the very end… If we are going to keep fighting and keep believing. The reaction from all of us in the second half is a perfect way to go.”
Jorginho, who was alongside Zinchenko in the interview added on Zinchenko’s words by saying:
“That’s the Premier League. That’s why it’s the best league in the world. It’s just beautiful… We came in at half-time, had a chat and then we went back doing the basics we need to do and changed the game.”
