Eddie Nketiah has started every game for Arsenal in all competitions since the return of domestic football after the World Cup. With Gabriel Jesus still out, he remains the only other out-and-out striker option Mikel Arteta has until the Brazilian returns.
However Eddie Nketiah has dropped to the bench for today’s game against Leicester City and won’t start for Arsenal for the first time this year.
Mikel Arteta says Eddie Nketiah has been carrying a small injury the last few games and he drops to the bench today to give him some rest with the amount of games coming up in consideration.
The knock can’t be too serious as he’s still on the bench today and has trained all week, which is good news.
Gabriel Martinelli returns to the side, with Leandro Trossard up top as a false nine to take on Leicester City this afternoon.
