After three defeats in a row and only one win in their last seven matches, Arsenal have been provided with a much needed boost as they head to Dubai for a warm weather training camp this week.

Thomas Partey picked up a muscle strain in training back at the start of November and hasn’t featured for Arsenal since. The 30-year-old’s injury problems have been a frustrating aspect of Arsenal’s season so far which has lead to the club being in the market for a new defensive midfielder this month. The Gunners are seriously considering a move for Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha.

Thomas Partey’s latest injury has kept him out of action for over two months, however Arsenal have now received a huge boost as the Ghanian is expected to return by the end of the month. Partey has stepped up his rehabilitation work and could be in line to return to first team duty for Arsenal’s trip to Nottingham Forest on January 30th.

The return of Thomas Partey will be a huge boost for Mikel Arteta, who has struggled to find the right balance in midfield without the Ghanian so far this season. Arsenal fans have long awaited to see a midfield trio of Declan Rice, Thomas Partey and Martin Odegaard this season, however now it might be just around the corner.

Arsenal are currently in Dubai on a warm weather training camp following the defeat to Liverpool in the FA Cup last weekend. The Gunners next game comes against Crystal Palace on the 20th January, which is expected to come too soon for Partey.

However he’s in line to return the game after against Nottingham Forest, which is a huge boost for Arsenal as they look to get their title challenge back on track after the break.

It’s looking unlikely Arsenal will be able to make any signings this month, however having Thomas Partey back fit and available could be better than any signing the club would have liked to make.
