Saliba’s recent injury has proven costly in the title race with Arsenal going four games without a win before Jakub Kiwior came into the side.
The 22-year-old has been a revelation in the Arsenal defence since arriving back from his loan spell in France at the start of the season. Saliba has played 27 games in the Premier League, scoring two goals and recording one assist.
No contract extension is imminent, however talks are moving in the right direction and the club are confident a new long-term deal will be wrapped up soon, with the player happy in North London and wanting to stay.
