The sauce of Saka has dripped for the Gunners all season. From his wonder strike against Manchester United to his showboating performance versus Everton, he’s been outstanding.

If there’s one man who deserves all the plaudits for the Gunners then it’s Bukayo Saka for sure. He took Arsenal out of the trenches when he stepped foot into the first team at the age of 18 to now where he’s one of Mikel Arteta’s most consistent performers.

Many have viewed their opinion on who should claim the player of the season award however Stuart Pearce who starred at both the 1990 World Cup and Euro 96 believes Saka has done enough to win the award ahead of rival, Erling Haaland.

“I think Saka has been magnificent. Manchester City fans will say Haaland but I think Saka has been the main driving reason why Arsenal are where they are in the division.”

Haaland refuses to go down without a fight however as the Norwegian maverick continues to fire in-front of goal. 42 goals and counting in his astonishing debut season for City. An astronomical 28 goals in 26 appearances in the Premier League as he edges closer to breaking the record held by Mohamed Salah for most goals scored in a single season.

With ten games to go, Arsenal currently lead Manchester City by eight points at the top of the Premier League table. Whichever team ends up lifting the trophy at the end of the season could have an impact on who also wins the player of the season award come May.

Regardless of whoever grabs the prestigious award, these two outstanding footballers have pushed each other to the pinnacle.

An unforgettable battle and an even more unforgettable season.
