Mikel Arteta has done an outstanding job since he became manager for Arsenal back in 2019, but one major team is looking to acquire his services.

Arteta has been doing wonders for the Gunners this season. The Spaniard has led the Gunners to first place in the Premier League, with 12 games remaining and the current round-of-16 in the Europa League.

The superb manager is being watched by many clubs around Europe after majorly exceeding expectations at the North London club, but it hasn’t always been going this well for Mikel Arteta at Arsenal.

Although he won the FA Cup early on in his Arsenal tenure, which brought him a bit of time when results weren’t going well, it hasn’t always been easy ride for Mikel Arteta as Arsenal manager. He’s gone through tough periods with an extreme amount of external pressure on his head, but internally the board always believed the Spaniard would turn it around & is the right man to get this football club back to where it belongs.

The Arsenal gaffer has changed the culture, the players, and the fans to all back the team, which was a shortcoming since Arsene Wenger left in 2018.

Mikel’s hard work has been seen by one of the world’s most prestigious clubs, Real Madrid. Los Blancos currently have Carlo Ancelotti, but Madrid’s President believes Ancelotti is the problem for Madrid’s issues this season.

Madrid sits second in the La Liga table, but 9 points behind rivals Barcelona. Madrid wants solutions, and their solution is to attract Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.

According to Real Madrid insider Tomás González-M, Real Madrid is seriously considering going for Mikel Arteta. Los Blancos would land a huge splash and a huge loss for the Gunners if dreams were turned into reality.

Arteta is from Spain; however, convincing the boss of the Gunners will have to be a real challenge. The gaffer’s surge with the club as well as being a former player for the Gunners means his emotions are tied to the club.

Arsenal will do everything they can to keep Mikel Arteta as the Arsenal boss for as long as possible, that’s if the Spaniard was ever tempted to leave, which right now is most definitely not the case.

Mikel Arteta on the links to Real Madrid:

“It’s things that managers or plavers can’t control what is written. What I can tell is that I’m fully focused on what I’m doing here and extremely proud and grateful to do what I’m doing in this football club. That’s it.”

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has spoken about Mikel Arteta’s emotional ties with Arsenal. Mikel left Manchester City after he was offered to manage Arsenal. The City boss had to say this about Arteta managing Arsenal…

“I know he went to his club, the team he dreams of. I think he is a supporter for the fact he played there, he captained there. He loves the club.

I remember that when we were together here, when we score goals he jumps a lot – except one team. I jump, come back, he was sitting there. It was Arsenal. So in that moment I said, ‘that guy likes Arsenal’.”

Real Madrid approaching Arsenal managers is nothing out of the ordinary. On Arsene Wenger’s documentary titled Arsene Wenger: Invincible, the boss could have gone to Real Madrid twice, and other clubs, but his love for the Gunners was too much!

Arteta has had dreams of managing Arsenal since he played for the club and the journey has only just begun.
