In the Fulham away locker room, a picture of the players and staff holding the Highbury and Emirates clock was revealed to the public from Martin Odegaard’s Instagram story. The clock is installed inside Emirates Stadium and is an iconic part of the Arsenal Football Club furniture.
According to DailyMail, as well as the clock, the staff have added stickers of the Arsenal badge and pictures of the squad together on the walls in the away locker room. This adds to the togetherness and a home feel even though they are playing away from home.
Mikel’s plans have made a significant impact in away games. In 14 games, Arsenal has a league-best 34 points in away matches (11 wins, 1 draw, 2 losses). That is better than Manchester City, who have 27 points in the same amount of games.
Last year, Arsenal picked up only 28 points away from home, which was the 6th best in the Premier League, where as Manchester City had 46 points from away games last season. There’s many reasons why Arsenal find themselves top of the Premier League, and their away form is definitely one of them.
Arteta’s away matches have been superb, and the feel of the away locker room makes the players more comfortable. The boss’ tactics have paid off and Arsenal have 5 more away matches before the end of the season and will need to capitalise on them in order to win their first Premier League title in 19 years.
