Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka was absent from England’s training session at St. George’s Park ahead of the international friendlies against Belgium and Brazil.

The 22-year-old has been a crucial figure for Arsenal this season, and was unable to join the England squad as they prepare for upcoming friendlies.

Throughout this season, Saka has showcased remarkable durability, featuring in 37 matches for Arsenal and scoring 16 goals and provided 15 assists. Despite battling illness before Arsenal’s recent victory over Brentford, Saka overcame the setback to make significant contributions, including an important role in the Champions League victory over FC Porto.

While his absence from England training may raise concerns, it is believed to be precautionary. Saka’s importance to Arsenal is evident, especially with a crucial Premier League fixture against Manchester City looming after the international break.

Saka was spotted along with Harry Kane, Jordan Henderson, and Cole Palmer were engaged in individual training indoors, separate from the main squad. However, there is optimism that Saka will be available for Arsenal’s clash with Manchester City.

Arsenal teammates Declan Rice and Aaron Ramsdale participated in England’s training session, providing reassurance to both the club and national team ahead of their respective fixtures.

Meanwhile, Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes has withdrawn from international duty with Brazil with a reported tendon achilles injury. Despite featuring prominently for Arsenal in the Premier League this season, Gabriel will return to the club after sustaining an injury while on national team duty.

Replacing Gabriel in the Brazilian squad is Juventus’ Bremer, who brings limited international experience, having made only three appearances for Brazil, with no appearances since the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

Brazil coach Dorival Junior has summoned Gleison Bremer, a defender from Juventus, to step in for the upcoming friendly matches against England and Spain this month. Dorival Junior conveyed his frustration regarding the recent injury setback, highlighting the necessity of having a slightly larger squad to compensate for such occurrences.

“I had already communicated previously that we will work with a slightly more extensive list,” he explained.

“A pre-call — we can put it that way — and again, today, we had another casualty. Unfortunately, Gabriel Magalhães is uncalled. In his place, we are calling Bremer, from Juventus.”
