Pep Guardiola has lauded the remarkable job Mikel Arteta has undertaken at Arsenal, as Manchester City edge towards a historic fourth consecutive Premier League title.

Following City’s 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, Guardiola’s side now stands tantalisingly close to securing another league triumph. However, Arsenal’s hopes rest on a victory against Everton coupled with a potential upset from West Ham against City in David Moyes’ final game at the helm of the Hammers.

Despite the slim odds of Arsenal clinching the title, Guardiola is well aware of resilience and determination of Mikel Arteta. Speaking to beIN Sports, Guardiola commended his former assistant, stating, “What can I say? He’s an incredible manager and what they have done this season with Arsenal. And he will not give up, they will try to win against Everton and wait what happens. But it’s what we want, the game depends on us…”

Meanwhile, as anticipation mounts for the Premier League finale, Arsenal have confirmed plans for Sunday’s crucial encounter against Everton. If successful in winning the Premier League title, the Gunners will mark the occasion with an open-top bus parade through the streets of Islington on Monday, May 20, commencing at 5pm.

The proposed parade will commence and culminate at Emirates Stadium, traversing key routes including Drayton Park, Aubert Park, Highbury Grove, St Paul’s Road, and Upper Street, where a private civic reception will be hosted at the Town Hall with the Mayor of Islington and local community representatives.

The tentative schedule for the parade is as follows:

  • 5pm: The parade sets off from Emirates Stadium at Drayton Park, proceeding along designated routes.
  • 7pm: The parade returns to Emirates Stadium, with the Arsenal squad making an appearance on the podium above The Armoury on Hornsey Road.
  • 8pm: Conclusion of the celebration event.
