Arsenal currently sit top of the Premier League table, five points clear of Manchester City and are still in the Europa League going into March. Mikel Arteta’s side have shown a level of consistency that title winners have so far this season.

Despite Arsenal’s good form, Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Magalhaes haven’t been called up by Brazil in their latest squad.

The South American nation is now being managed on an interim basis by their U20 coach Ramon Menezes and he will oversee their next few games before a permanent coach is appointed.

Having missed out on a place in the World Cup squad, Gabriel has been a key member of the Arsenal defence that could win the Premier League this season.

However, the defender has been ignored alongside Martinelli, with the coach naming a youthful side that includes Arsenal target Vitor Roque, 18, as well as many other young players.

Arsenal are aiming to win their first Premier League title since the 2003/04 season, so having more first-team regulars at London Colney over the international break will only be a positive for Mikel Arteta.

Arsenal have four more games coming up before the international break arrives at the end of March. They’ll face Sporting twice, home & away, in the Europa League, as well as travelling to Craven Cottage this weekend to take on Fulham & host Crystal Palace on the 19th March which will be their last game before the break.

Gabriel Jesus is of course Arsenal’s other Brazilian who is expected to be back on the pitch before the 19th March, after not featuring for the Gunners this year due to an injury he picked up while away at the World Cup with his nation.
