Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided injury updates on Martin Odegaard and Leandro Trossard.
Odegaard was withdrawn just before the kickoff of Arsenal’s pre-season friendly game against FC Nurnberg as Arteta saw his team pegged back in the 1-1 draw in Germany.
Bukayo Saka delivered a powerful shot in the early stages, giving Arsenal the upper hand at halftime. During the break, Mikel Arteta made changes to the team, aiming to improve the overall fitness levels by introducing Kai Havertz for his debut.
Despite having numerous chances in the second half, Arsenal were unable to increase the score. Unfortunately, an unusual own goal by Jorginho shortly after the 60-minute mark allowed the hosts to equalize, resulting in a shared outcome for both teams.

Martin Odegaard was set to begin the first pre-season game against FC Nurnberg this afternoon, but the captain sustained a minor injury during the warm-up. As a result, Fabio Vieira took his place before the match. Odegaard was excluded from the lineup as a precautionary measure, and the injury is not believed to be significant.
Speaking at his post-match conference, Arteta provided updates on Odegaard and Trossard who was replaced just before the hour mark by Leandro Trossard.
He said: “[Martin Odegaard] and Leo [Trossard] are struggling and we had other players with issues picked up in the week so we have to be cautious. It’s pre-season and some of them have only had two or three training sessions so we’ll take it step by step.”
The boss also spoke of Kai Havertz’s debut:
“We will see. We have to see how he adapts and get to know each other and build relationships. Football is about that and time will tell where he sees best.”
While also providing updates on the latest on transfer dealings:
“At the moment we are working with the group of players that is here. We have nothing to announce yet, and when it is done you will be the first to know.”
Arsenal will return to London this weekend before travelling to the United States for their pre-season tour where the team will play MLS All-Stars, Manchester United and FC Barcelona.
