Takehiro Tomiyasu & William Saliba both had to be substituted in the first-half of the match tonight as Arsenal crash out of the Europa League following losing in a penalty shoot-out at the Emirates Stadium to Sporting.
Mikel Arteta has provided an update on the injuries…
On Takehiro Tomiyasu:
Tomiyasu left the stadium on crutches last night.
“I don’t know. Tomiyasu looks pretty serious from his reaction and what he said to me.”
On William Saliba:
William Saliba had no strapping and looked ok as he left the stadium after the match.
“Willy I don’t know, he had some discomfort and could not continue.”
On Gabriel Jesus:
Arteta confirms there was no injury issue for Gabriel Jesus.
“We decided to do that take him off because we had to manage the subs.”
Arsenal face Crystal Palace back in the Premier League on Sunday before the international break and Mikel Arteta will be hoping there are no more fitness issues ahead of the game after a difficult 120 minutes of football tonight.
