Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has eased fans’ fears after one of the Gunners’ star players appeared to leave the pitch with an injury against Manchester City.

Bukayo Saka was substituted in the 78th minute after receiving treatment on the pitch and walked off, seemingly limping, alongside one of Arsenal’s physios.

The England international had been a doubt before the game, after withdrawing from international duty with England due to an apparent injury issue, though few details were shared at the time.

While fans panicked on social media as he left the pitch, Arteta sought to ease their concern in his post-match interview, where the Spaniard insisted that: “He just went out today with fatigue, nothing serious”.

The next game for Arsenal is a quick turnaround, at home to Luton on Wednesday, meaning that the seeming lack of concern shown by Arteta over a possible injury to his star is a massive boost.

In another boost, both Gabriel Magalhaes and Gabriel Martinelli were able to play a role in the game despite their fitness concerns, with the latter replacing Saka, while Takehiro Tomiyasu also made his long-awaited return from injury.
