Mikel Arteta hasn’t been afraid to put his trust into the Arsenal youngsters so far during his managerial career.
Once under immense pressure, he brought Emile Smith Rowe into the starting line-up for a game against Chelsea on Boxing Day in which the boy from Hale End starred and Arsenal got a huge victory which was the beginning of where Arsenal find themselves today, at the top of the Premier League table.
This season he has once again showed faith in the younger players. The Spanish manager handed Ethan Nwaneri his Premier League debut at the age of 15, making him the youngster-ever play to play in the Premier League.
It looks like the boss is set to keep up this trend as Mikel Arteta has called up 19-year-old Arsenal youngster Salah-Eddine Oulad M’Hand to first-team training ahead of their fixture against Brentford this weekend.
The 19-year-old was sent out on loan to Hull City at the beginning of the season but was sent back to Arsenal due to injury. He only returned to training last week but Mikel Arteta clearly rates the Dutch footballer very highly as he’s already training with the Arsenal first team, as shown in the photo above.
This could simply be to allow the youngster to get a taste of first-team action and try and gain some experience rather than a hint that he could be involved against Brentford in the Premier League at the weekend.
