It’s well known the North London Derby is usually won by the team playing at home, however Arsenal will have to rewrite history tomorrow if they want to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table to eight points.

Manchester United came from behind to beat Manchester City in the derby earlier today, which will give Arsenal an even bigger incentive to go and get three points tomorrow against their North London rivals.

The table as it stands ahead of tomorrow’s game…

The boss was sounding in surprisingly confident mood ahead of the game. “In the last few years there were places we haven’t won for 15, 17 or 20 years,” he said in his pre-match press conference. “I would like to do it all at once. We haven’t been able to do that, so we have a great challenge and opportunity on Sunday to get that done. That’s the challenge that we have. We have to beat them at their place. I think the players are in a really good emotional state. We are excited, we are enjoying playing together and we are in a good position. So we have to improve a lot of the things we still have to do, and we have to maintain the things that have taken us this far.”

Mikel Arteta is confident & he’s got a reason to be. Arsenal are the most in-form team in the league while Spurs are stuttering. Arsenal are favourites despite very few home wins in this fixture over recent years.

Can also win their first North London Derby at Tottenham for nine years?
