After coming up against the league leaders at the weekend, Michail Antonio has given his opinion on Arsenal and the job Mikel Arteta has done at the club during his three year tenure so far.
The West Ham striker labelled the job the Arsenal boss has done in North London unbelievable while also comparing the Gunners to Mikel Arteta’s former side and title rivals, Manchester City.
With Arsenal letting a two goal advantage slip twice in their last two games they’ve come under a lot of scrutiny this week, however Michail Antonio didn’t agree and was full of praise for Arsenal and the boss.
Some clearly believe that Arsenal may be starting to throw the title away with the recent dropped points but Antonio isn’t one them.
The West Ham star was speaking on The Footballer’s Football Podcast:
“The skills to actually do what you’re doing, study it, come and then actually pull it off – even though the guy who’s mastered it is there – and you’re beating him at doing his own thing, it’s unbelievable.
The craziest thing is how they’re doing it. I was watching the game and I was like: ‘if I shut my eyes, this could be City’, exactly how they play.
Mate, Jesus was picking it up at six. It was a mess. You can’t stay in your shape. They move you out your shape. It’s unbelievable.”
Mikel Arteta is now on the cusp of becoming the first manager to win the Premier League title in their first managerial job. On top of that Arsenal would be the youngest team ever to lift the Premier League trophy.
Arsenal face Southampton on Friday before the big title deciding game at the Etihad next week.
