Martin Ødegaard speaks on the Arsenal manager and how Mikel Arteta has changed the club for the better.
Arsenal’s captain has been flying on cloud nine. The Norwegian has 8 goals & 6 assists in 19 appearances for Mikel Arteta’s side so far this season.
The captain has already spoke his intentions to keep playing for Arsenal for a long, long time.
In August 2021, Ødegaard moved to the Gunners permanently after a €35 million move from Real Madrid. He has been world-class since he joined and arguably one of Arsenal’s best ever signings.
The midfielder spoke to the Players Tribune about his meeting in 2021 when he was on loan.
Martin Ødegaard said:
“I spoke to Mikel Arteta on a Zoom call and he told me all about the project. At the time, Arsenal were not doing well. They were way down like 15th in the table, but that meeting! Honestly, I challenge anyone to come away from a meeting with Arteta and not believe everything he tells you. He is next level.
It’s hard to explain. He’s passionate, he’s intense and sometimes, yeah he’s a bit crazy. But when he speaks, you understand that whatever he says will happen, will happen.
I will say this, though, if there’s anyone left who still doesn’t fully believe in this team, take it from me: there are no limits on what we can achieve. No one can tell me otherwise. I’m so proud to be captain of this club and I feel like I’m going to be here a long time.”
These comments are huge from the captain. Arteta is next level, he is passionate and crazy. His comments show he’s happy at Arsenal and he’s here to win things. Arteta’s touchline antics may be controversial to some, but for the players, they love the fact the manager cares so much.
Ødegaard states he wants to be at the North London Club for a long time, and no Arsenal fan will say no to that! He has been world-class, and his love for this club runs deep!
