Martin Keown said he was blown away by the performance of one Arsenal star who was imperious against AFC Bournemouth on Saturday.

In a display of dominance, Arsenal secured a comfortable victory against Bournemouth today, heightening the pressure on Manchester City at the summit of the league table.

The Gunners asserted their superiority late in the first half with a crucial goal, calming nerves at The Emirates Stadium. Subsequent strikes from Leandro Trossard and Declan Rice sealed the deal, cementing Arsenal’s triumph.

Arsenal’s presence in the upper echelons of the league shouldn’t raise eyebrows. Following an impressive season last year, the club bolstered its ranks with new signings in the summer of 2023 with the aim to strengthen the squad.

Among these acquisitions, the standout has been English midfielder Declan Rice. Throughout the season, Rice has consistently showcased his talent and was instrumental in today’s victory.

Former Arsenal player Martin Keown, commenting on Rice’s performance for the BBC, praised the midfielder, expressing admiration for his evolution. “It was a bit tense in the first half. Declan Rice continues to impress. He epitomises the ideal player for Arsenal,” Keown remarked.

“He has seamlessly integrated into the team, embodying the unity between fans and players that Arsenal stands for. His celebration reflects the joy he brings. He’s truly enjoying himself out there.”

Rice’s impact transcends mere statistics. Despite the hefty price tag of over £100 million, his contribution to Arsenal has been invaluable. While the title race remains open, Rice’s arrival has significantly bolstered Arsenal’s prospects, both domestically and in European competitions.

In the annals of Arsenal’s transfer history, Rice’s signing stands out as a masterstroke. With the potential for further improvement and with Arsenal experiencing a resurgence, Rice is poised to play a pivotal role in the club’s future successes.
