Manchester United centre back has labeled the most difficult player he has faced in the Premier League so far…
Lisandro Martinez has played a pivotal role for the Red Devils this Premier League season. Some may say he has been one of the best players at the club this season.
Martinez sat down with the Telegraph for an interview, and was asked who the hardest player is that he has played against this season.
Martinez listed Arsenal and Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus as the hardest player he has played against. Someone that can push and be strong against the back line.
After Jesus’ £45million transfer from Manchester City to Arsenal, he hit the ground running. In his 14 Premier League appearances, the Brazilian has got 5 goals and 5 assists.
According to fbref.com, Gabriel Jesus has been statistically one of the best too. Gabriel Jesus ranks in the 90th or higher percentile in 12 of the 19 major statistical categories.
Gabriel Jesus has been out since his knee injury he picked up at the World Cup. Arsenal’s number nine has been recovering and is on the brink of a return for the Gunners. The potentially huge boost needed for the North London club to continue their title charge over the final few months of the season.
Just like Martinez, many other centre backs will have to deal with the pressure of Gabriel Jesus once he returns, which is expected to be very soon.
