Leandro Trossard, after scoring the decisive goal for Arsenal against Manchester United, refuted Roy Keane’s assertions that the Gunners were merely lucky in their win at Old Trafford.

Despite United boasting more possession and shots than Mikel Arteta’s side, Trossard’s strike secured a crucial victory for Arsenal, propelling them back to the top spot in the Premier League. However, Keane, speaking on Sky Sports, criticized United’s performance, labeling them as “poor” and implying that Arsenal’s win was fortuitous.

“I think Arsenal will be thinking how lucky they were to play such a poor Manchester United team today,” Keane remarked, highlighting United’s lack of quality and poor decision-making. He expressed disappointment in United’s performance, particularly in the last half-hour of the game.

Contrary to Keane’s perspective, Trossard emphasized the defensive resilience of his team, attributing the win to their solid performance at the back. “Maybe it wasn’t the prettiest game but credit to the guys, we defended so well,” Trossard commented, praising his teammates for securing another clean sheet and ensuring victory with a single goal.

Acknowledging the threat posed by United, Trossard commended his team’s defensive efforts, stressing Arsenal’s determination to achieve their objective of winning the league. “Man United are still a good team and they can hurt you in different ways so credit to the boys – we defended really well,” he told BBC Sport.

Looking ahead, Trossard expressed optimism about Arsenal’s chances in the final game of the season, emphasising their commitment to clinching the title. “We have done our job today and it will be up to the last game and that is what we are aiming for,” he stated, hopeful of celebrating a successful season finale.

Arsenal’s victory against Manchester United not only reaffirms their title aspirations but also shows their defensive solidity, as the gunners continue their pursuit of Premier League glory.
