Leandro Trossard started Arsenal’s match against AFC Bournemouth yesterday, however the Belgian only lasted 22 minutes when he was substituted for Emile Smith Rowe. He picked up what looked like a muscle injury and couldn’t continue.

Mikel Arteta said after the game on Trossard’s injury:

“He felt something in his groin when he was tracking back in the first half. He had to come off. It looks like something muscular.

It is a worry. He came to me straight away and told me he could not continue because he’d felt something when he was tracking back after the corner. We have to assess him and see how he is.”

It will be a big concern for the Arsenal boss with Eddie Nketiah currently sidelined due to a knock on his ankle & Gabriel Jesus is still one week away, at best.

Arsenal travel to Portugal on Thursday to take on Sporting in the Europa League and then return to London on the weekend to take on Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Gabriel Martinelli could start through the middle in both games next week, with Reiss Nelson & Emile Smith Rowe taking up the minutes on the left, if no other striker options are back before Thursday for Mikel Arteta to choose from.
