Kevin Campbell has tipped Emile Smith Rowe to have a part to play for Arsenal between now and the end of the season, as the Gunners aim to win their first league title in 19 years.
Arsenal have seen some unlikely heroes step up to the plate this season, which is a big reason why they currently find themselves above the rest in the league. Every player has contributed. Everyone but Emile Smith Rowe.
Jorginho against Aston Villa, Fabio Vieira against Brentford, Reiss Nelson against Forest & Bournemouth, Rob Holding against Palace & Leeds. The list goes on.
Emile Smith Rowe has struggled to get gametime this season after undergoing surgery on his groin at the end of the last year. He’s yet to start a Premier League game for Arsenal this season, however with nine games to go & the 22-year-old being back to full fitness, he could have his say on Arsenal’s surprising title charge.
After scoring 10 goals in 33 Premier League game last campaign, Arsenal’s number ten has unfortunately not been able to kick-on like he would have hoped this season. However there is still time for Emile Smith Rowe to make his mark on this memorable season for the Gunners and Kevin Campbell has tipped the player to do just that.
Speaking on the Highbury Squad YouTube channel, Campbell has discussed Smith Rowe and the impact the midfielder could end up having between now and the end of the season.
“When he gets his opportunity he’s going to have to take it. Who knows?
This guy we might just need him at a certain point of a game to bring a bit of magic. It might now be a goal it could just be a drop of a shoulder and a pass, that might be it.
He still has a big part to play.”
Campbell says that Smith Rowe is the type of player who can create a moment of magic from nowhere, and he can see him making an impact in the coming weeks.
